Paving the Way With Disability:INnovation

What do teddy bears, the internet and special equipment for drivers with disabilities all have in common? They were all developed by entrepreneurs with disabilities or with the help of entrepreneurs with disabilities. Learn from entrepreneurs about how their journey with disability informed their success in business.  

Disability:IN North Carolina’s (DI-NC) 2023 Fall Conference theme, “Great Leaders Create Great Cultures”,  could not be timelier. Facing fierce competition for talent, due to the global workforce shortage, finding and keeping talent matters more than ever. Companies that leverage their unique mission, purpose and values will strengthen their identity by inspiring employees to deliver on their brand promise to customers. The key to creating a committed, engaged workforce is for leaders to build an inclusive culture where all employees (including employees with disabilities) feel meaningfully connected to the mission.

Carolina ADA champions who have paved the way for advances in equality and employment leading up to the passage of the ADA. “North Carolina Champions of the ADA” will be a virtual, no cost event celebrating the 33^rd anniversary of this landmark legislation while highlighting individual success stories to demonstrate the impact that the ADA has had in advancing disability inclusion and employment throughout North Carolina. The main event will feature a diverse compilation of video submissions from employers, employees, and other talented individuals.  Being a champion of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in North Carolina involves having an informed perspective about the protections and reasonable accommodations that the ADA provides to ensure those with disabilities have the opportunity to achieve economic self-sufficiency through meaningful employment.   ADA Champions will share their story while honoring the stories of North Carolina leaders who have paved the way for advances in equality and employment leading up to the passage of the ADA.

Join us to hear  Ali and industry leaders share their strategies on  how to  create and implement disability inclusive policies and practices within organizations from C-suite leaders to employee resource groups.  

The 2022 Fall conference on October 6th will celebrate our 10 years of driving disability inclusion and innovation in the workforce with a host of experts in disability inclusion and employment and thought leaders on cultural transformation  from across the state.
