Carolina ADA champions who have paved the way for advances in equality and employment leading up to the passage of the ADA. “North Carolina Champions of the ADA” will be a virtual, no cost event celebrating the 33rd anniversary of this landmark legislation while highlighting individual success stories to demonstrate the impact that the ADA has had in advancing disability inclusion and employment throughout North Carolina. The main event will feature a diverse compilation of video submissions from employers, employees, and other talented individuals. Being a champion of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in North Carolina involves having an informed perspective about the protections and reasonable accommodations that the ADA provides to ensure those with disabilities have the opportunity to achieve economic self-sufficiency through meaningful employment.
